It may be inapropriate for Gaudiya vaishnavas to dress like this (as it is not their custom), but in the Sri sampradaya brahmacaris dress in white lungi, while only grihastas wear the panchakacha dhoti. Since Bhaktisiddhanta had his brahmacharis wear safron cloth, he needed to distinguish them from sannyasis, so he added the panchakacha to the brahmachari's safron dress.
