Guest guest
In 1972 I had the privilege of travelling with Srila Prabhupada and a large group of devotees in India. We had been staying in Vrindavan for the Kartika month, and left for a tour of India. After arriving in Hyderabad, we would have programmes morning and evening, and at noon time we would attend a life member's home for lunch. One particular day, we had lunch at a gentleman's home where the prasadam was particularly opulent. I almost always tried to avoid such opulent prasad because my health was adversely affected. On this particular day, I got carried away. Srila Prabhupada was only about 5 feet away, and I was in bliss. The Indian system is that you have to guard your plate, otherwise they will pile more on. I had finished everything I had on my plate, except for just one puri. I was completely stuffed. I sat back with a sigh, an obvious sign that I was "finished". Immediately His Divine Grace leaned over and said to me, "Oh! You can't finish?!!?" I was mortified. "Of course, Srila Prabhupada" And I finished that last puri, mumbling to myself whether or not I could digest it. >From that day, I vowed not to waste any prasad and I always clean my plate.
