Una volta vari discepoli chiesero a Srila Prabhupada se la loro relazione

avrebbe potuto avanzare attraversi gli stadi di servizio, amicizia, di

parentela e coniugale. Srila Prabhupada disse no, questa era una

comprensione errata. La vera relazione -disse- è espressa nella canzone Sri

Guru-vandana:

janme janme prabhu sei. "Lui è il mio Signore vita dopo vita."

In un'altra occasione, quando i discepoli chesero se Srila Prabhupada fosse

l'eterno padre dei suoi discepoli, egli sorrise e disse: "Penso di si." E

citò ancora il verso del Sri Guru-vandana, ma questa volta cambiando la

parola prabhu (maestro) con pita (padre)- janme janme pita sei.

Once several disciples asked Srila Prabhupada if their relationship with him

could advance through the stages of servitude, friendship, parental, and

conjugal. Srila Prabhupada said no, this was an improper understanding. The

real relationship, he said, was expressed in the song Sri Guru-vandana:

janme janme prabhu sei. "He is my lord, birth after birth." On another

occasion, when disciples asked if Srila Prabhupada was the eternal father of

his disciples, he smiled and said, "I think so." And again he quoted the

verse from Sri Guru-vandana, this time changing the word prabhu (master) to

pita (father) - janme janme pita sei.
