BTW, I think that the reiki masters will now also have to put up vedic pramana's supporting their contentions to adopting that. If something is truely working in ones own life.,isn't that "lokica pramana"? TridaNDi BhikSu, Bhakti Visrambha MAdhava
Guest guest
I am not in theory opposed to urine therapy. I do have some concerns. I stipulate for the sake of argument that urine theory has been beneficial in the past, and that it can be shown anecdotally to have some short term benefits today. Do you know that it is possible to now find measurable levels of manufactured antibiotics (nonexistent in previous ages) in streams and rivers? I would be concerned that if someone was ingesting low levels of antibiotics from drinking water or from food cooked in water, that there may be some danger of accumulating those antibiotics in the body by recyling them when drinking urine. Symbiotic effects of combinations of antibiotics as a rule haven't been tested. The same concern would apply to pesticides and/or heavy metals in foodstuffs. Previously, all food was organic, it is only within the last 100 years this has ceased to be a general truth. Pesticides and heavy metals are concentrated in milk. Would drinking urine further concentrate these within the human body? Again, many of these are in theory safe in low volumes but in higher concentrations are known to be carcinogenic. And synergistic effects are NOT studied. These are issues that history of urine consumption would be unable to address.
