Guest guest
SrI SrI Guru Gaurangau Jayatah Camp: Nizhiny Novgorod, RF DaNDavats Dear all. Jaya Krishna BalarAma! Please accept my respectful obeisances. All Glories to Sreela PrabhupAda.. MMM Thank you for your interesting points. > I am not in theory opposed to urine therapy. I do have some concerns. you're not alone either...everyone's a bit concerned no doubt...before they read up on it all. shouldn't we also be concerned that devotees (who are rare souls) are literally neglecting to maintain the vehicle that they use to preach to conditioned souls? > I stipulate for the sake of argument that urine theory has been beneficial > in the past, and that it can be shown anecdotally to have some short term > benefits today. if you read the books that mention the cases of those who's long term diseases were cured by "siva"= curing, "abhu" =water. they all continued the therapy after their diseases abated. they became long term advocates. > Do you know that it is possible to now find measurable levels of > manufactured antibiotics (nonexistent in previous ages) in streams and > rivers? HeY! wheatgrass juice chelates out heavy metals, those that follow multiple therapies, (magnetized water, urine, accupressure etc), act to try to adjust those malific aspects of modern contamination. when some disciples, objected that store bought milk contained traces of cod-liver oil in it, yet SP commented, "what to do-you can still offer it to Krsna". > The same concern would apply to pesticides and/or heavy metals in > foodstuffs. Previously, all food was organic, it is only within the last > 100 years this has ceased to be a general truth. Pesticides and heavy > metals are concentrated in milk. Would drinking urine further concentrate > these within the human body? Again, many of these are in theory safe in > low volumes but in higher concentrations are known to be carcinogenic. Think of the wells in Bengal thing - digging a lot of wells had short term benefits in reducing surface water borne diseases, but we are now faced with a situation where an entire population has chronic arsenic poisoning. As a rule, I am always leery of panacea solutions, to either health, societal, or spiritual issues. Examples : If you just chant your rounds every day and go to mangala arotik, all your mundane problems with resolve themselves. If ISKCON just adapted the rittvik position, all the problems in ISKCON would disappear. If ISKCON would just let anybody be a guru, all the current problems would disappear. If we just build this big temple, everyone will love us.
