Remembering Srila Prabhupada - Sannyasi asrama is not a good idea

Guru-krpa Maharaja was thinking of purchasing some

land here in Vrndavana for building a sannyasi asrama.

I asked His Divine Grace about this plan. He replied,

"sannyasi asrama is not a good idea. This is

sahajiya's idea-eating and sitting. There are

different types of sahajiyas, but they are all

rejected. Our men should actively preach, just like

Hamsaduta Maharaja is doing. We don't want to

encourage idle sitting, solitary bhajana. The

sahajiyas, they manufacture so many stories about how

the best pious activity is to feed the saintly persons

in Vrndavana. And they are the only saintly persons.

They eat and sit and gossip. --- is also sahajiya;

therefore, he mentions Ramakrishna. --- [another

Vrindaban resident] is sahajiya number one. Simply mix

with him to take some service from him. At the same

time, be very careful that he may not exploit. In

Vrndavana, ninety percent are sahajiya. And sahajiyas

are rejected by Bhaktivinoda."
