Guest guest
Srila Prabhupada NectarPersonal: His Special Use of Language - More Prabhupada-isms When Prabhupada's cook served him an unusually heavy breakfast, including rasagulla and sandesa, Prabhupada remarked, "This is breakfast? No, this is break-head." In a lecture, Prabhupada was describing alcoholics. "Just like in New York, you have seen on Bowery Street the drunkard -- what is called? Alcoholic bumpers? What is the name?" "Bums," suggested a devotee from the audience. "Yes," said Prabhupada, "the bums." When Prabhupada found someone's beads dangling near the floor or hanging from a doorknob, he sometimes would say, "Whose beads are crying here?" Referring to a short afternoon rest, Prabhupada called it a "snap" rather than a nap.
