The real question is why Mother is considered offensive.

Its interesting that in Vedic culture someone who took sanyasa was only

paying his obeisances to his mother not the father. Certainly the mother is

on the same position as Guru, from the respect we would give, although not

neccesarily we would take her instruction as on the same level- saksat

harih.

I am amazed how one can react as feeling offeded when addressed as mother.

We can remmember the story how Arjuna saw Urvasi as her mother and she

feeled offended. So I dont think its a good idea to feel offended.

I think we should greatly focus that its glorious for a woman to be like

universal mother like Sita, Mother Jahnava who cooked for all vaishnavas

and served them with own hands. Although a guru she had motherly affection

for all. So it is glorious to address her as Jahnava Ma.

Maybe we can fight for the concept that woman have their rights. As there

could be some black points in our Society history. Sure they have, but

should we try to create woman who are man.

The first thing what impressed me in SP teaching is to see the woman as

respectful mother. I was always disgusted how my friends looked on woman

just as object for their enjoyment and then rejected. Is the meaning of

Prabhu, Swami and Mother really so different. But it may have some

importance that we develop a Society of motherly love and love for the

Mothers.
