Guest guest
This is not entirely about the inequality in the (US) legal system between men and women. It's also about the actual and inherent inequality between male and female. A boy's innocence and virginity is worth less than a girl's. And if the adult in the relationship is a man, and there is a child concieved, that's the problem of the girl and her family. If the adult is a woman, it's her problem. So there are legitimate reasons for inequality in prosecution and sentencing, although what those inequalities should be quantitively is another question. I would say that the boy in this case has probably been hurt more by the guilt/infamy/adultery/legal proceedings than the act itself. Ys Arjunanatha dasa -- Text 10264434 (71 lines) Internet: "Sugriva Dasa" <sugriva.dasa > 17-Aug-05 21:29 -0400 Teacher goes to jail for sleeping with student --------------------------- http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8925268/ And what do you think would have been the sentence if it had been a male? This was a comment about that case from where I got this piece: _____ If anyone doubted the inequality in the legal system between men and women...well, this is PROOF. If any silly chick says we are exagerrating, this is clear and open proof. No two ways about it, no doubt about it. Women are a privileged class in America, period. There is a different standard for them in the legal system. Women are allowed to rape little boys and get off with a slap on the wrist. Loud and clear. Women are allowed to rape little boys in America. That should be the headline. _________________________

Guest guest
What does it have to do with India (Continental Committee) Open Forum? If you two want to discuss it, do it privately or on a child abuse conference. > > > Thursday, August 18, 2005 12:42 PM > > Sugriva Dasa > > Cc: India (Continental Committee) Open (Forum); ISKCON India (news & > > discussion) > > Teacher goes to jail for sleeping with student > > > > > > This is not entirely about the inequality in the (US) legal system > > between men and women. Guest guest
this is like saying that if you steal from a rich man the punishment should not be as much as if you stole from a poor man because the rich can afford it. But that is not the case in theeyes of the law: stealing is stealing no matter who the victim is. > > Arjunanatha (das) KKD (Bristol - UK) > [Arjunanatha.KKD (AT) pamho (DOT) net] > Thursday, August 18, 2005 12:42 PM > Sugriva Dasa > Cc: India (Continental Committee) Open (Forum); ISKCON India (news & > discussion) > Teacher goes to jail for sleeping with student > > > This is not entirely about the inequality in the (US) legal system between > men and women.
