Mother is the first guru in the life of every human being. No > > man can disobey mother, not even Pandavas, the most powerful men that > > walked on this earth. Therefore, desire to be honored as mother. > > I desire to be honored as nothing, thanks all the same. But if I was going > to be "honored" as anything, I'd like to be honored for being a devotee. > Not a male or a female. A devotee. Understood, but it is not that you have to receive the honor for yourself, rather you may, as a humble devotee, accept this particular honor in order to help the males purify themselves by learning to see and address every woman as mother. It is a time-tested process. Sooner or later the symbology will give way to actual higher consciousness if we keep practicing the formula given by the acharyas. Besides, its a two-for-the-price-of-one package deal, respect and authority for women at the same time, who would pass up a deal like that?.
