There are no early records of numbering verses, nor do early acaryas refer to texts by the chapter & verse number. What is the oldest vesion of the manuscript where the verses and divided in chapters and numbered? Why do we assume that whoever wrote down the dictation of Srila Vyasadeva was authomatically numbering the texts and giving names to the chapters?
