Guest guest
fate of small farmers in USA . these agribusiness demons are controlling your food supply to make you slaves I found this in Livestock and Livelihoods " From 1935 to 1989 the number of small farms in the US declined from 6.8 million to under 2.1 million. During the same period the US population roughly doubled. As farmers have gone out of business so have the local suppliers , implement dealers and other small businesses that once supported them. Entire rural communities have disappeared. Meanwhile the major US agribusiness corporations have grown and consolidated their power. The top ten farms in the USA are now international agribusiness corporations with names like Tyson Foods. ConAgra. Gold Kist, Continental GRain, Perdue FArms, Pilgrims Pride and CArgill, each with annual farm product sales ranging from $ 10 million to 1.7 billion ( David C Korten 1998) Research in Universities is also financed by these giant corporations. ys Labangalatika dsi
