Dear Maharajas and prabhus,

Please accept my humble obeisances at your lotus feet. All glories to Srila

Prabhupada!

After weeks of travelling and preaching in India, without the opportunity to

check my e-mails, I come back to this raging discussion on the 9-11 article.

I am glad JA Swami posted it. It is very well written, but I have no time to

really get very far into this. There is too much preaching to do, and my e-mail

is now clogged with this discussion. No doubt there are heavy duty, demoniac

global conspiracies going on. Actually, Srila Prabhupada himself indicated that

only a few demons, their dynasties, and political expansions, are running the

planet--by external calculation. Fortunately, the real maintainer and

proprietor of this planet is Krishna Himself, and His expansion, Lord Vishnu,

and He has His grand plan for ushering in the Golden Age of Kali through this

Sankirtan movement, which we are fortunate to be participating in. Some "old

timers" remember when fatalistic conspiracy theoris were personally brought

before Srila Prabhupada, notably by Sri Govinda prabhu, then president of

Chicago ISKCON. Srila prabhupada, on hearing the "doom-saying" of the devotees,

emphatically stated, "Nothing can stop this Sankirtan movement--not war,

[conspiracies] or anything else!" Krishna is actually in controll, not the

demons. They only seem to be in control. That is part of the Maya, so let us

not get caught in it, as some of the prabhus are pointing out. Actually, Srila

Prabhupada indicated that the demons will kill each other off, thus making way

for this Sankirtan movement. If we are worried, we should fulfill Srila

Prabhupada's order to establish self-sufficent rural communities, not subject

to the disasters of politcal maneuvering. Our business, therefore, is not to

get hung up on the vicious dealings of the demons, but to preach vigorously,

distributing Srila Prabhupada's books world wide, and holding mass festivals.

Eventually the demoniac leaders will be replaced as the planet moves towards

goodness, but it may not be in out lifetime. Srila Prabhupada told us that if

only 1% of the planet became Krishna conscious, then the planet would become

Vaikuntha! so that is our real business. Arguably, the best part of the

article is the very appropriate citation of the 16th chapter of Bhagavad Gita.

Let's leave it at that--demons will act as demons, conspiracy or not! Let us

"do the needful" in pure preaching, not high-risk political speculations.

Neither does that mean that we have to put our heads in the sand, pretending

there are no conspiracies, but any way you look at it, spreading Krishna

consciousness is the only solution! So please, let's chill down on this issue,

and go back to work spreading Krishna consciosness any way we can.
