Guest guest
But Prabhuji, before one gets another body he may spend some time in hell, without a gross body. >From the story of Puranjana we learn how he was dragged out of his body, tortured for a while, and then given a female body. I also read in the Bhagavatam that there is a time period between transiting from one body to another. I am sorry, I don't have the quote. But I clearly remember showing it to several devotees upon finding it. I vaguely remember it was in one of the first three cantos. > The living entity immediately gives up the present body and enters > another. SB 4.29.76-77 > > The next body has to be immediately accepted according to karma. > SB 5.13.1 > > At the appropriate time, one's next body is immediately chosen, and both > the individual soul and the Supersoul transfer to that particular bodily > machine. > SB 6.1.31 > > Because nature is so perfect, at the time of your death, what is the > mental condition, you will get a similar body, next life. Karmana > daiva-netrena [sB 3.31.1]. Because daiva, Krsna is with you. Krsna will > see, "Now he is thinking of become a king. Now he is thinking to become a > dog." So Krsna immediately gives you. You take the body of a dog. You take > the body of a lion. You take the body of a king. Take the body. Similarly, > if you are thinking of Krsna, take the body of a Krsna, immediately. > Bhagavad-gita 2.9 -- London, August 15, 1973 > > The nature will immediately offer you a similar body according to the > thinking at the time of your death. > Bhagavad-gita 2.11 -- Delhi, March 25, 1976 > > You can try to understand. Similarly, as soon as the next body is arranged by superior > arrangement, we give up this body and enter into another gross body. > Immediately. This is the law. > Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.2.22 -- Vrndavana, November 2, 1972 > > As soon as I am desiring something, immediately my body is formed. > Immediately a particular type of body begins to form, and as soon as I am > mature to change, my next body I get according to my desire. > Srimad-Bhagavatam 2.1.1 -- New York, April 10, 1969 > > So after death -- after death means when this body is finished -- then you > get another body immediately, because you have already made the field > work, what kind of body you will get. > Srimad-Bhagavatam 6.1.26-27 -- Philadelphia, July 12, 1975 > > As I have several times discussed that the, at the time of death, the > mental condition will help you to have another next body, mental > condition.
