Guest guest
Our Humble Obeisances Dear Maharajas Matajies and Prabhus, Jaya Srila Prabhupada We were just recently discussing with devotees how bhajans and kirtans are getting more and more popular among different yoga-groups and esoteric circles. There is this Krsna dasa with his nicely selling albums, and others are there. We just met with one somewhat popular astanga-yoga teacher from Finland who had recently been in Krsna dasa`s concert in USA. He confirmed that nowadays, every yoga-group likes to have some chanting in their meetings, quite many are even droducing their own cd`s. Maha-mantra maybe there but all other non-Vaisnava things also. Of course you cannot put everybody under the same category, someone maybe full mayavadi, someone prakrta bhakta, someones have certain principles others hardly any. But there are statements how chanting of the mayavadi is like milk touched by the lips of a serpent, and how materialistic chanting is basically nisphala-fruitless. But on the other hand for example Bhagavatam 6th canto mentions how there are great blessings even if chanted for musical entertainment or for joke. We would like to hear comments, are these things positive in a sense that people become interested about chanting in general, and may end up to Krsna consciousness, or is it neutral or harmfull phenomena to us?
