Guest guest
Dear Yaduraja Prabhu, PAMHO. AGTSP! > 1) You agree that Srila Prabhupada was the only/sole diksa guru in ISKCON > from 1966 to 1977. No, I did not write that. I wrote, "From 1966 to 1977 he was the only person in ISKCON who initiated his own disciples". Do you see the difference? > I had said that Srila Prabhupada established himself as the sole diksa > guru for ISKCON in 1966, and remained so till 1977. You have confirmed > exactly this above. No, I have not confirmed that. Srila Prabhupada established himself as the Founder Acarya of ISKCON. > Do you agree that Srila Prabhupada is still the founder Acarya of ISKCON? Yes. And you? Do you now agree that Srila Prabhupada established himself as the Founder Acarya of ISKCON, not as the sole diksa-guru? ys Ramakanta dasa
Guest guest
Dear Yaduraja Prabhu, PAMHO. AGTSP! > If they were not your arguments, then whose were they? The arguments of Mr. Strawman. Please note that besides Krishna I am the only person who can authoritatively tell you what my argument is and what not. > Sudama Prabhu’s assertion is based on the proven fact that there is no > evidence for such an authorisation on Vedabase, a point you have conceded > on this very forum. Please don't twist my words. I have not conceded that there is no evidence for such an authorization in the Vedabase. Rather I wrote: “I agree with you that in the Vedabase it is not recorded that Srila Prabhupada explicitly authorized anyone to be diksa-guru.” (By "explicitly" I meant "giving names".) "What about statements in Srila Prabhupada's book and letters where he authorized disciples to be guru if some conditions are fulfilled? Actually such statements exist." In the Vedabase it is indeed not recorded that from 1978 to 2005 Srila Prabhupada authorized any diksa-guru. But it is recorded that he said that he will choose and authorize some guru. And you (IRM) conclude from this that until today Srila Prabhupada did not authorize any diksa-guru. -- No comment. > If I were to say “Srila Prabhupada never said Siva was superior to > Krishna’ then I would be making a similar statement to Sudama. Would you > then argue that I cannot prove that statement? I would reply that this is an unproven statement and present statements where Srila Prabhupada said the opposite. Generally it is not possible to prove that Srila Prabhupada never said something, except if you can present a statement by Srila Prabhupada saying that he never said it and will never say it. ys Ramakanta dasa
