Simply for some money we have to sell out our principles and become directly involved in the sinful acts of the karmis. > As of March, the UNDP program is complete and so SMVS is no longer > involved in condom distribution in any way. This is not much consolation. What you are really saying here is that if the UNDP program was not complete, we would still be involved in their illicit activities. The cessation of the program in March isn't a plus for us in any way. What happens the next time the UN or some other organization wants to involve the SMVS in sinful acts? Will the managers again feel obliged to participate? What we should be asking ourselves is what would Srila Prabhupada say about such activity? There is only one answer to that, and I can say with complete conviction that the SMVS is way off the mark for its involvement in this nonsense. How can we expect the mercy of Lord Caitanya and the acaryas for building Their temple and spiritual city if we deviate in this way? Better to can the whole enterprise of the SMVS than become compromised and violate our spiritual principles. There are other avenues and ways, bona-fide and approved by Srila Prabhupada, for cultivating and benefitting the local population than behaving like a bunch of karmis. The whole operation of the SMVS imho needs a very serious re-think. Whatever you write in your aim and objectives, if in the real world you sell out our Krsna conscious principles at the first sign of pressure from the asuras, then the rhetoric is worthless.
