Guest guest
Dear Maharaja, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. > file attached from Padmanabha gosvami of radha ramana ghera. I got it off > the web. why didn't you google before you ask all of us? I've downloaded > huge files off the web. you've got broadband don't you? There are so many festivals or other practice in the scriptures. This does not mean that it is necessary or even suitable for members of a particular sampradaya to follow these practices. There are so many things contained in the scripture, "srutayo vibhinnah." With out there being some clear indication from our immediate acaryas that we should follow this festival I have my doubts that we should. "mahajano yena gatah sa pantha" Lord Caitanya instructed Sanatana Gosvami to describe the various festivals Gaudiya Vaisnavas should follow in the Hari-bhakti-vilasa. Tulasi-Salagrama vivaha is not mentioned by Sanatana Gosvami, nor is there any information that would indicate Srila Prabhupada wanted us to follow this festival. Of course there are many things we could follow in deity worship, however it is my suggestion that we focus on the items that our acaryas did give instructions on, such as cleanliness, punctuality and the 64 items of deity worship described in HBV and Caitanya-caritamrta, madhya-lila 24.334. This is enough to keep us fully engaged. > I'll look later but I doubt it as SP was interested in public sankirtana > more. Therefore let us focus on sankirtana and other such activites rather than things that Srila Prabhupada did not encourage or even suggest we do.
