Guest guest
For several days in February 1936 at the Yogapitha, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati's morning lecture was on an introductory verse from Gita-govinda: yadi hari-smarane sarasam manah yadi vilasa-kalasu kutahalam madhura-komala-kanta-padavalim srnu tada jayadeva-sarasvatim He commented that this verse presents the topmost subject of Veda and Vedanta, and that if one desires to be liberated from material existence, if one desires to be attracted by Bhagavan's transcendental pastimes, if by hari-smarana one's mind is enriched with rasa, then in the manner undertaken by guru and Vaisnavas the sweet and charming verses of Jayadeva's Gita-govinda are suitable for discussion. ------- The beginning of all paras in this book are indented. Slokas are set in a different style to the rest of the text. When a sloka is quoted within a para (as in the case above), does the beginning of the remaining para require indenting? Logically it shouldn't, but not doing so might look odd, as if the layout man had made an oversight.
