Guest guest
Dear Yaduraja Prabhu, PAMHO. AGTSP! > If someone or something did not establish the status quo in which Srila > Prabhupada operated between 1966 and 1977, then how did it manifest? I did not write that no-one and nothing established the status quo in which Srila Prabhupada operated between 1966 and 1977. Therefore your question is meaningless. (I wrote that it is unproven. And "unproven" does not mean "false"). Should I explain it again? Or is it sufficient to ask you to kindly read again my previous texts? > Did ISKCON just appear by chance, out of nothing, with no cause, no > organiser? What are you trying to say, you’ve lost me. Srila Prabhupada is the Founder Acarya of ISKCON. > I only ever claimed B supports A. "Supports" is not sufficient. I want to see a proof. If the streets are wet, then that supports that it rains or has rained, but is does not prove it. > Srila Prabhupada had already established himself as the diksa guru long > before he wrote to Madhudvisa or gave the radio interview. If by "as the diksa guru" you mean "as the first diksa guru", then I agree. Otherwise, if you mean "as the sole diksa guru for ISKCON", then I just repeat that this is unproven. > Your task, if we ever get onto point B will be to prove that C (Founder > Acharyaship) by definition limits the status quo to pre 1978. I will not have to prove statements that I did not make. > If you ask someone to prove a negative then you are making a logical > fallacy. That depends on where the burden of proof is. It is not a logical fallacy to ask the opponent to prove his claim, whatever this claim is. > To defeat Mark you should show where Srila Prabhupada DID appoint a > successor. That is shifting the burden of proof. > Whenever devotees on this forum make such claims as ‘Srila Prabhupada > never said or did that’ they are writing on the basis of available > evidence. Do you want someone to sit down with you and read through the > entire folio every time they make such a comment to prove it is correct? Not everything what Srila Prabhupada said and did is recorded in the Vedabase. And the recording stopped in 1977. Of course when an omniscient and truthful person says "Srila Prabhupada never said or did that", then I will accept it. But he will have to prove that he is omniscient and truthful. > First you made these fallacious ‘prove a negative’ arguments on our forum. If you think I made a fallacious argument, then please quote the entire argument (the premises, the proposition and the inference) that I presented. And don't add any speculation. Otherwise, please stop these false accusations! Thanks. ys Ramakanta dasa
