Guest guest
Dear Braja Sevaki Mataji. Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. > > > > > Why are you so much bent on finding quotes on beating women? I would like to inform you, that above quote was comment from Isvara Prabhu GGS on my quote regarding Srila Prabhupada's mother telling to Srila Prabhupada, when he wanted to beat her married sister, that, "You don't have to beat her now because she has a husband. If she does something wrong, her husband can beat her.", and I commented on that. > > The real question is, why do you find it necessary to tell a female > disciple of Srila Prabhupada -- who is your senior, and whom you are > required to treat as your mother -- that she would be "wise to understand" > that beating women is okay? I must have missed something. Please kindly tell, which Srila Prabhupada female disciple you mean? I was replying to Isvara Prabhu GGS, as presented above. Besides, I can say, that by saying "wise to understand" I was mostly pointing out my personal intentions and motives to engage in this discussion, besides pointing out, that we cannot just take from Srila Prabhupada whatever we like, and reject the rest. And I also explained, that "I'm sure nobody is trying to find excuses for his beating of women.", and that surely includes me. I cannot really speak for others, but for myself I consider it "wise to understand" even such Srila Prabhupada's words, which obviously cause much disturbance to sensitive persons like yourself. Although I didn't think that one should be disturbed by such Srila Prabhupada's words, but now I can see that unfortunately it is possible. I should have been more careful. > > The sad fact is that you are COMPLETELY wrong in rebutting Kanti devi's > statements: we can speak of non violence and compassion, and those things > are required before you start speaking of beating. Until then, you're out of your depth, so who cares for all > your talk of when and how it's "okay" to beat women? As your mother, Kanti > devi can give you a thrashing and there's damn all you'd be able to do > about it - THAT is Vedic. I'm not sure, if this part is ment for me personally. Somehow I cannot remember writing anything to Kanti Mataji. Also I never mentioned Tulsi das. The quote about Srila Prabhupada beating his sister Pisima was my first post to this "beatting women" thread. And I'm surely not trying to say, that it is ok to beat women. And regarding my chanting, we never really met in person, so I cannot imagine, that you are speaking about me, Giri-nayaka das BVS. I feel that there was some misunderstanding. I'm replying to your letter, because you used your judgements as a quote to my words. So I really don't want to turn out as woman hater or something. Was there some misunderstanding? Or do you still insist that all your above statements, as expressed by your quoting my letter to Isvara Prabhu, are connected to me personally? your servant Giri-nayaka das
