DaNDavats Dear Madhava gosh and others here. Jaya Krishna BalarAma!

Please accept my respectful obeisances. All Glories to Sreela PrabhupAda..

Thank you for your help.

I've been recently using "kombucha" a fungus type tea that has medicinal

properties. it is 2000 years old, perhaps you've heard of it.

it fights high blood pressure and cancer etc.

only problem is that in order to "brew" it one has to use either black or

Green tea, (which is really forbidden for vaisnava's).

online I've looked and it appears that other types of non oily herbs can

also be used to brew it. but i don't know them.

do you? if i can find out and try it out, then if I get success, it will go

a long way to promoting healthy life amongst all Iskcon devotees.

I just need to get some feedback to find alternative

herbs for making it.

thanks in advance.

eager to hear your reply as soon as you can.

Some make the argument that the kombucha metabolizes the caffeine.

It can be made using decaf green teas.

Make sure it is produced in clean circumstances, even rinsing the kombucha

itself before putting it in a new batch.

Not recommended for those with impaired livers or immune system

deficiencies. It is less the kombucha itself as much as the danger of other

organisms that may develop along with it and contaminate it. This is a low

probability so for those taking it as a preventative (which it is, not a

curative) it isn't a problem but may be a problem if it is a last ditch

effort type thing.
