Guest guest
I also heard that in a Turkish earthquake a survivor living under his desk for 10 days, drank his own urine, and he survived, but his wife, daughter, mother, wouldn't and they died. Sailors drank urine on liferaft to survive December 20, 2005 - 8:14AM http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2005/12/20/1134840820725.html?from=top5 The sister of a man who licked rainwater and drank urine to survive 11 days in a liferaft off Vietnam says her brother would do anything to survive. Australian sailor Mark Smith and New Zealander Steve Freeman took to their tiny rubber liferaft 11 days ago when their yacht sank in huge seas south of Hong Kong on a delivery voyage to Australia. Moments later another big wave swept away their survival gear and they spent 11 days licking rain water off the liferaft and drinking their urine to survive. They were spotted by Vietnamese fisherman and taken to a small hospital on an island off Vietnam. Freeman's sister, Karen Scowen, said last night she was overcome to learn what her brother had gone through to survive. She told The New Zealand Herald the family should not worry about him, because he was a survivor. "He would do anything to survive," an emotional Scowen said. "He's the baby of our family and he's the headstrong fighter," she said.
