Guest guest
Posted by Yaduraja on Jan 01, 2006: Dear Ramakanta Prabhu, PAMHO, AGTSP, OK thanks for that. I am sorry if you think I have refuted something which is not your position. Since the two statements mean the same in English I still do not understand why you think there is a difference, but we can come back to clarify that if we ever get back to point b), which I must confess is now looking gloomily unlikely. So back to point a). You had written previously: > "I accept your point a) provided you replace it with following statements: > > 1) Srila Prabhupada was the sole diksa guru for ISKCON from 1966 to 1977. > 2) Srila Prabhupada set things up that way in 1966." > > (Ramakanta das Nov 30, 2005 - 10:38 AM) I had accepted the above. So we both agreed on something. Jai! If we combine statements 1) and 2), using your own words, we get: Srila Prabhupada set up in 1966 that he was the sole Diksa Guru for ISKCON from 1966 to 1977. The above makes no claim about WHY Srila Prabhupada did this. Nor does it make any claim about whether or not this situation or status quo was meant to change in the future (that issue comes under point b). It simply states an historical, easily verifiable fact that neither side of the debate (IRM or `GBC), dispute. Having previously agreed to this fact, you now say: > And it seems that we have not even finished your point a) ("Srila > Prabhupada established himself as the sole diksa guru for ISKCON in > 1966"). So I state again: It is not proven that Srila Prabhupada > established himself as the sole diksa-guru for ISKCON. It is not proven > either that Srila Prabhupada set himself up as the sole diksa-guru for > ISKCON. (Ramakanta Dec 13, 2005 - 08:34 AM) Oh dear! Maybe this is a language problem, I don’t know. Ramakanta prabhu, either Srila Prabhupada did set himself up as the sole diksa guru for ISKCON in 1966 or he did not. You have both accepted this, and said it is not proven. When you have made up your mind perhaps you could kindly let me know. Ys Yadu
