Guest guest
Dear Yaduraja Prabhu, PAMHO. AGTSP! > But this clearly means it was quite unfair to claim I had misrepresented > your position. Actually it was you who misstated your position, not me. So > if you withdraw the accusation that I attacked a fabricated position > (which is a straw man attack) in return I shall withdraw my accusation > that you contradicted yourself and promise I will only address your > curious new wording in the future, and thus we can return to our > discussion of point a). I did not write that you have misrepresented my position. I just wrote that you misunderstood me and refuted what you have understood. That was not an accusation. I did not write that you fabricated a straw man argument. I just wrote "So this is a straw man argument". I already withdrew the term "straw man argument". So there is nothing left to be withdrawn. I don't care if you think that I contradicted myself since that would be no proof that your position is correct. > Since you admit your ‘question’ could apply to anyone in the world then > I’ll let you answer it since there are already dozens of outstanding > points you have made that I have still to address (they are all stacked up > before my very eyes with rebuttals already prepared for every last one of > them). So if you like you can post your own reply since you say you > already know the answer and I’ll let you know if I disagree with it. As I already wrote, I want to hear the answer from you because we are discussing your position. > I do not see it as relevant to this current debate since if there is no > possibility of understanding Srila Prabhupada then there is no point in > ANY further discussion. The answer to my question is very relevant to this current debate because you technically analyzed Srila Prabhupada's statements and presented the conclusion that you got by this method. Here is a simple example that demonstrates that technically analyzing Srila Prabhupada's statements is the wrong way: Srila Prabhupada said, "chant Hare Krishna". If you technically analyze this instruction and come to the conclusion that you should chant "Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Hare Krishna ...", then you misunderstood Srila Prabhupada although you technically correctly understood this instruction, namely to chant "Hare Krishna". Whereas those who chant "Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare" do not literally follow this instruction. > And if there is a possibility to understand Srila Prabhupada properly then > that possibility will be open to everyone equally. Srila Prabhupada described the right method to correctly understand spiritual things. So if you don't know the answer, then go and read Srila Prabhupada's books and transcribed lectures. Or ask your spiritual master. ys Ramakanta dasa
