Guest guest
Dear Jahnu Prabhu, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Thank you for your letter. I feel deeply shy to adress such a vast number of devotees, who may not have asked to be part of this discussion. I will be brief, and leave more detailed comments to personal communication. Ultimately, I don't think that the real issue that we should look at in depth is Dhira Govinda's courses, although there is a merit in scrutinizing them. There are controversial issues related to them and we should create an awareness of them. I also think that these courses should stay in the periphery and not be put on the forefront as it has been done in a number of cases. However, my feeling is that we should not look simply at the symptoms, but rather focus on the source of the problem. The real question is: why do so many devotees take the courses in the first place, unless there is a demand? I am personally a loyalist to ISKCON and Srila Prabhupada and I am entirely convinced that the six exchanges of love mentioned in the nectar of instruction and practiced by Srila Prabhupada and many of his sincere followers are the medicine to most psychological problems. My proposal is that we, together, should make sure that our movement becomes so caring, so loving, so devotional that these courses will simply run out of business. Guest guest
> With absolute certainty? On what basis do you make all these assertions? On the basis of Srila Prabhupada's teachings. > Have you ever attended his seminars? Am I required to execute my devotionasl practices with third class intelligence to satisfy your questions? I am not required to attend his seminar to know what it is about and to make a statement that it is worthless in the pursuit of devotional qualities. >I haven't, so I don't feel qualified > to comment on them at all. You may not feel qualified, but I am. > Have you examined every single devotee who has > taken his seminars--before and after? No. I don't have to. You can tell if the rice is boiled by examining a few samples. >I haven't, so I'll stay silent on > that, too. Whatever. That doesn't mean I have to.
