I was with a group of about 30 devotees from Ireland. It was the first time in India for all of us. We arrived in Delhi at 2 in the morning. At the hotel reception where we stayed for the night we booked a call to Vrindavan through the operator. We were hoping to announce our arrival in Vrindavan the next day, sometime in the afternoon. The operator asked me if I wanted a standard time call or 'hurry hurry'. I had no idea what 'hurry hurry' was but assumed it would be quicker than 'standard time'. The operator politely confirmed the number I wanted to call in Vrindavan and told me she would call me back in 3 days with my connection. I thought I had misunderstood and reiterated that I had requested 'hurry hurry'. She told me yes 'hurry hurry' is 3 days and 'standard time' is one week. Let us be grateful for small mercies.
