I don't have the direct reference here, but I heard that Darwin wrote about

a Creator in the first editions of his book but later changed it and said

that he regretted having written it. At least I saw some quotes from Darwin

about this, but I don't remember were. We can try to do some research.

 

I a letter to one of his friends he later states that je imagined that life

had arisen from some combination of chemicals in some little pound long ago.
