Guest guest
I am not qualified to comment on Srila Prabhupadas recommendations, but I had typhoid in Pondicherry once. The blood test read, Salmonella Typhi, and I was physically throwing up everything, with high fever and no strength at all. I could not even write a letter to Mayapur management to tell them where I was. I was given allopathic medicine and it took me two weeks in bed with no food, and then gradually taking milk for a week followed by a week of fruits and boiled vegetables before I managed to hobble out of the hospital and catch a train back to Mayapur. I was told at the time to be very careful not to strain myself, otherwise it was possible to have a relapse, and I was not really fully back to normal till after about 7 weeks. I didnt have a choice to eat, I could not keep anything down. Typhoid is a killer, so best to be very careful.
