Guest guest
> But this is someone > who's trying to work amongst devotees. Why? Are we once again going > to be told that this is the way to real devotion? ! I know about this program from before. In Feb 2004 Atmananda P. wrote for a permission to use some material from VEDA for his developing Atmayoga program and I agreed for non-commercial purposes. >From these points (** by me) in the promo text it's clear that it's not primarily meant for ISKCON devotees. -- Atma yoga *bridges yoga students to bhakti* ========================================== As atma yoga teacher training reaches around the world non-devotees are enjoying transformational experiences. By offering a Vaisnava brand of yoga to the *general public* atma yoga is *creating new friends of Krishna, temple supporters, and aspiring devotees*. Complete training and certification in using yoga as an *outreach tool* Yoga is an ideal tool for bhakti *outreach* If you have been thinking about using yoga as an *outreach* tool then this program was designed to serve your needs. -- If you read more at http://yogamandir.com/what_is_yoga.html it's again clear that the connection to bhakti yoga is not at all hidden. Rather the opposite: "Atma Yoga is designed to raise the student to the platform of Bhakti, ecstatic devotional service to God... Although Atma Yoga is not the same as Bhakti Yoga, Bhakti is the ultimate goal of Atma Yoga." (I just don't agree with the definition of Bhakti - "this is the synthesis of the previous two". [Karma kanda and Jnana kanda] Writing a feedback.) If a definition of preaching is to bring people up from the level they are, then Atmayoga imho fulfils it. ys Jan
