Although the fact of the matter that he was eminently unqualified was

crystal clear, still by steely determination and sheer persistence and

against all odds he totally flabbergasted the pandits, who hadn't given him

a cat's chance in hell, and after a prolonged battle of wits,

notwithstanding a few hiccups with a touch of panache he stymied the

opposition and outstripped the other competitors to emerge head and

shoulders above them as the clear winner, and thus scoop the coveted prize

for using most cliches.
