Attainment of svarupa at the point of death

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

 

Sometimes destination of those devotees who pass away prior to realizing

their spiritual identity and eternal relations with Krsna is questioned.

 

The following sloka from SB seems to address this doubt:

 

 

SB 12.3.50

 

mriyam€Šair abhidhyeyo

bhagav€n paramevaraƒ

€tma-bh€vaˆ nayaty a‰ga

sarv€tm€ sarva-saˆrayaƒ

 

SYNONYMS

mriyam€Šaiƒ—by those who are dying; abhidhyeyaƒ—meditated upon; bhagav€n—the

Personality of Godhead; parama-…varaƒ—the Supreme Lord; €tma-bh€vam—their

own true identity; nayati—leads them to; a‰ga—my dear King; sarva-€tm€—the

Supreme Soul; sarva-saˆrayaƒ—the shelter of all beings.

 

TRANSLATION

My dear King, the Personality of Godhead is the ultimate controller. He is

the Supreme Soul and the supreme shelter of all beings. When meditated upon

by those about to die, He reveals to them their own eternal spiritual

identity.
