Beginning in a few days Sri Mayapur Project will host pilgrims from all over

Bengal to celebrate Gaura Purnima.

 

Every year Mayapur Food For Life puts on a marathon effort to feed as many

pilgrims as possible. Last year, more than 50,000 persons were fed with

sumptuous, hot kitchuri on the Gaura Purnima day itself.

 

Throughout the day, over one hundred devotees and volunteers struggle to

keep up with the demand. The pace is intense, but the joy we feel seeing the

gratitude and satisfaction on thousands of faces is our greatest reward.

 

This year we expect nearly five lakh pilgrims for the two week long Gaura

Purnima utsav. Many thousands of these pilgrims depend on Mayapur Food For

Life for their meals, having scraped together just to come to Sri Mayapur.
