On February 2, 2006 about one dozen devotees from the Arawade temple, headed

by the temple president Dharma Raja Prabhu, organized a program at the

Sanglia Jail. Bhajans, a lecture given by His Holiness Candramauli Swami

and an ecstatic kirtan following enlivened the 250 inmates. This was the

third of such programs organized by the Arawade temple. The Arawade temple

is under the guidance His Holiness Lokanatha Maharaja. In fact, Arawade is

the Janmastan of His Holiness Lokanatha Maharaja. The head jailer is very

favorable and is very eager to have devotees come and perform kirtan and

speak to the inmates. After the lecture there was an interesting question

and answer session followed a rip-roaring kirtan in which practically the

entire inmate population took part. Halava prasadam was distributed to each

and every inmate including many of the jail officials and guards. The head

jailer was very happy and is encouraging the devotees to come back

regularly. Enclosed are pictures of the program.
