Guest guest
Dear Maharajas, Prabhus, and Matajis, Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Bhakta-vijna-vinasa Narasimhadeva ki jaya! For those of you who were interested in the Brghu reading that Indradyumna Swami had and wondered where and how you could get one then you may be interested in the following book: "Naadi Predictions" by Wing Commander Shashikant Oak, published by Fusion Books out of Delhi. The inside of the book says it can also be procured from the following website: www.diamondpocketbooks.com. (He spells it Naadi but is generally spelled Nadi, though it is a long A.) This book is not about how to make Nadi predictions but rather about the authors experience with Nadis - Brghu Samhita belongs to the genre of astrology literature called Nadi Grantha. It contains not only his thoughts and experience with Nadis but because he was stationed in many parts of India (Air force personnel) he also gives the names, addresses, prices and comments on 64 Naadi readers that he has consulted in Tamil Nadu (the most), Maharastra, Punjab, Delhi, Kerala, Karnataka and Andra Pradesh. One has to be very careful with Nadi readers as some are cheats and cheating is done in very clever ways. A few years ago when I was Sri Rangam I asked the locals if there were any Nadi readers around, they said yes, but also said he was no good - a cheat. So buyer be ware. Even if they are not cheats you may not be able to find your exact chart and they may use one which is similar and thus get only partial accuracy. My astrology teacher in Kerala, Krsnan Potti, told me that he had been to many Nadis in South India, the best one being in Tanjore, but even that one was only 70% accurate when it came to future predictions. Your mileage may vary. I have personally had readings from the Brghu Samhita, Suka Nadi, and Kala Chandra Nadi. In many areas they said the same things and filled in gaps for each other, but in other areas they contradicted each other. For example they gave different ages for longevity and when it came to marriage one said I would not get married, one said that I would definitely get married, and the third said I might get married; hence all bases were covered (-: As an astrologer it is interesting to note that the Nadis I consulted use house=sign system of house division, Jaimini system is notable by its absence, Vimshottari Mahadasa seems to be favored to the exclusion of others and Navamsa is considered quite important.
