So I got the hardrive box, with USB connection, and my computer recognises that its there, and working ok, but says its unreadable. It is the hardrive from my previous laptop, which was a Dell, and was running windows ME. I imagine that this hardrive is having a sort of 'out of body experience' expecting to be in the body of a Dell with all its hardware etc, and cannot relate to being connected to an ASUS computer running XP.
