Dhruva Maharaja was doing > austerities only accepting leaves, etc. What counted was his KC.We should > inspire people to add Krishna to their life. Its not that drinking milk is > having any transcendental value, isnt it? you know, I agree 100%. I teach all over the world, and people become vegans because they are sincerely trying to step more lightly on mother earth. Most vegans I meet are sincere soft hearted people. We should make friends with them, and give them prasadam. At our restaurants in Australia we always have some non-dairy options, and even whole days when there is a non dairy selection to make up a complete meal. We are not compromising our philosophy, but extending ourselves in love to help them advance also. I also have a vegan section of my website. http://www.kurma.net/ Many of my recipes are in fact vegan, without trying to be, by the way. The vegan movement in the world is very very big. Many famous and influential people are vegans. They are on our side. Make them our allies by sharing KC with them also. Sure we meet some fanatics. I am always humble, explain our stance and tell them that they can take our perspective, or leave it, but that we 'beg to differ'. There is no question in my mind about trying to 'defeat' them, unless they want a debate. And then they should leave happy, as almost ALL of those who debated with Prabhupada did, otherwise our heavy-handed, so-called preaching is useless.
