Celebration of the Rathayatras and Annual Festival

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

 

We have recently celebrated our 9th year Temple Inauguration Festival in ISKCON

Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It started with two Rathayatras. On March 31, Friday we had

a Rathayatra which started at 5 p.m. from Ranchhodji Mandir in Sarangpur Area

which is the old walled City Area near Rly. Station and it covered Khadiya Char

Rasta, Rly. Station, Kapasiya bazar, Raipur New Cloth Market to Raipur Chakla

and Chakaleshvar Mahadev. The Rathayatra was around 3-4 hours procession. Many

devotees joined this Rathayatra from Vrindavana and from other temples of

Gujarat. During the Rathayatra, HG Jasomatinandan Prabhu and HG Sarvabhauma

Prabhu led ecstatic kirtans. HG Mahaman Prabhu was also present in both the

Rathayatras. Thousands of people in city area got benefited spiritually by

Darshan of Sri Sri Jagannath Baladeva Subhadra and with the distribution of

sweet bundi Mahaprasad and hundreds of BTGs.

 

The second Rathayatra was on April 1st, Saturday. It started at 5 p.m.

from Kankariya Hanuman temple on Sola road and went through Bhuyangdev Char

Rasta, Subhash Chowk, Gurukula, Sunrise Park, Vastrapur Fuwara, Judge Bunglow

Road, Ashish School, Ramdev Nagar to ISKCON Mandir on SG Highway, Satellite

Road Crossing. In this Rathayatra, hundreds of devotees participated from

Baroda, Surat, VV Nagar temples. This year, during Rathayatra the whole route

was fully crowded. We had Sri Sri Jagannath Baladeva Subhadra, Sri Sri Radha

Govindji and Sri Sri Sitaram Laxman on the Ratha. So we had very nice

Rathayatra with the distribution of hundreds of books and Mahaprasad. We had

elephants, horse-carts, bands, dioramas and two kirtan parties in this

Rathayatra.

 

After these two Rathayatras, we had Five Day evening discourses and Drama etc

program from April 2nd, Sunday to 6th, Thursday at the temple from 7 p.m. to 10

p.m. beginning with Sandhya Arati. The stage program started from 7:30 p.m. HH

Bhakti Vikasa Swami, Sri Sarvabhauma Prabhu, Sri Deenbandhu Prabhu and Sri

Jasomatinandan Prabhu shared their experiences and gave very illuminated

discourses. Every morning there was Harinam Sankirtan Parties going out and

distributing books.

 

On RAMNAVAMI, April 6th, we had midday abhishek, Special flower decorations and

Chhappan bhog offering and a special evening program. Morning Bhagavatam Class

was given by HH Bhakti Vikasa Maharaja on Lord Ramachandra. It was full of

different names of Lord Rama. We did Abhiseka of Lord Rama at noon with

ecstatic kirtan. After the Abhiseka HG Deenbandhu Prabhu led a very ecstatic

Kirtan with his sweet voice. In the evening we had wonderful lectures followed

by Drama on Lord Rama's pastimes. After all these programmes, we had buses for

the International devotees for the free trip to Dwarka.

> Prabhu and other leading devotees will give discourses. Every morning there

> will be Harinam Sankirtan Parties going out and distributing books.

> On RAMNAVAMI, April 6th, there will be midday abhishek, Special flower

> decorations and Chhappan bhog offering and a special evening program.

> For International devotees we arrange every year a free trip to Dwaraka on

> Ramanavami night for two days and return after two days in Dwaraka.
