Guest guest
Dear muniraja prabhu, Hare Krsna! Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Although your idea is not so deviant from the actual truth, It is important to understand what Srila Prabhupada says, in its proper context. The quote you have given is an example by Srila Prabhupada, showing that the reason for so-called 'falldown' from Vaikuntha is OUR FREE WILL and that Krsna does not interfere with that. This example DOES NOT show that Krsna asks the soul 3 times, whether he wants to go and tries to convince him not to. That is a speculative extrapolation on what Srila Prabhupada has said. It is simply designed to show that we have the independence to turn away from Krsna and that it is not Krsna's fault that we have done so. It is important not to change or embellish (add or subtract) what the acaryas have said, as THAT tendency can lead anybody down the path to serious deviation. Hoping this meets you in God health. ysgd ============================================== Our Humble Obeisances We don`t like to mention the lecturer before I found(if I found) that particular lecture, but senior devotee sended us this quote from Srila Prabhupada as evidence that Krishna tries to convince the jiva not to leave the spiritual world. Devotee: "In the Srimad-Bhagavatam, it says that Krsna did not want us to come to this material world. If Krsna did not want us to come, why are we here?" Srila Prabhupada: "Yes. You forced Krsna to allow you to come. Just like sometimes a child forces his father. Father says, 'My dear son, do not do this. Do not go there.' But he insists. 'Oh, I must go. I must go.' 'All right, you go at your risk. That's all. And you suffer. What can be done?' Because you are son of God--God has got independence, full independence, almighty-- therefore you have acquired the quality of your father. You have got little independence. So God does not interfere with your little independence. If you persist that 'I must go and enjoy independently,' so God says, 'All right, you can go.' This is the position. You have to take sanction. That is a fact. But when you persist, God sanctions. And you come and enjoy" (Collected Lectures on Bhagavad-gita As It Is, Vol. III, pp. 112-113). ys muniraja dasa
