Guest guest
Hare Krishna! Please accept my humble obeisancies. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! In attachement - photos of Hamsa Vahan (Lord Siva)'s abhisek in ISKCON Mayapur, 9-04-06 Hamsa vahan deity is very unique deity of Lord Shiva. Once Lord Siva giving up his bull carier mounted Sri Hamsa-vahana, Brahma's swan carier and harily came to Madya Dvipa in Navadvipa Dhama to here the recitation of Puranas in this Holy place. Along with his followers he sang the glories of Gauranga. While singing and dancing, the followers surrounder Lord Siva and shouting the name of Gaurahari, threw hips of flowers all around. (from Sri Navadvipa Mahatmya) This deity used to hide under water all year along and come out during this days only once a year. But since Hamsa Vahan had being stolen by muslims last year and hidden in a mosk, Police after finding Him, told pujaries not to put Him under water any more, so now Hamsa Vahan remains in a small vilage temple throught the year. On 9-04-06 He came to visit ISKCON Mayapur for the first time. Devotees was very much enthusiastic for that and gave Lord Siva a very big abhishek with lots of kirtan, then he went for darsan of the Deities and at 7 PM left back for his temple in Madya Dvipa. In attached file is a zipped folder with few photos of abhishek, the rest of photos (darsan) will follow in the next post (not to make this attachement too big).
