You should celebrate on the ekadasi day even if you are to fast the following day. The rules for deciding when to observe ekadasi fasting are special rules and are only applicable for the fasting. If due to these rules the fasting is actually to be observed on the dvadasi day, still the previous day is ekadasi and is suitable for observing the ekadasi-specific event. But this is definitely a source of confusion for many. The next version of the vcal.iskcongbc.org site, which is planned to be up and running by August, should help eliminate this confusion by allowing the calculation of any vyasapuja day observance at any of the covered locations.
