Guest guest
Radhadesh weekend retreat On Friday 14th at 7pm a bus pulled onto the property of Radhadesh. Inside sat 70 devotees from England who came to spend Easter weekend at Radhadesh. They came on a retreat from the struggles of material life. So for the next three days they happily spent their time hearing seminars, watching a play and dance performance, learning slokas and singing bhajans. The temple president of the Bhaktivedanta Manor, Gauri dasa was also present giving seminars on Saturday and Sunday. Sita Rama dasa oversaw the activities assuring that all activities went as planned. His service at the manor is manager of the training and education department. Srutidharma dasa who works in the congregational preaching department at the manor assisted Gauri dasa with the seminars. Another four brahmacari's came to see that the guests were provided with all their personal needs. The three-day program was expertly managed by the manors devotees. On Saturday the activities included a temple tour, seminar on Vaisnava Seva, seminar on basic exercises for all round good health, a quiz, a treasure hunt and a brief class on learning slokas. After Sandhya arati there was a performance by the manors BTG Theatre Company and at 8:30 the day ended with Bhajans by Gauri dasa. On Sunday a second seminar was given on Nama Ruci by HH Prahladananda Swami, a pranayarna and fitness seminar, a performance by the Jaipur dance troupe and another class on learning slokas. After Sandhya arati there was a class on volunteer work at the manor and Bhajans wrapped up the days activities. Monday was only a half day since the group left right after lunch. The activities included seminar number three, Jiva Doya by Srutidharma dasa, a class entitled, Preaching heads/Preaching Hearts and then a final talk about the benefits of the weekend retreat. As they were leaving the temple devotees all agreed what a wonderful experience it was to have their association. We all wish to thank them for coming and look forward to a return visit. The following are some of the statements made by our visitors. "I made a few friends here and hope to return again and again." "This experience will definitely help me and my family." "Why did you run out of pizza?" "A really nice place, a good place to meet new friends." "I thought Radhadesh a beautiful place." And "Everything was excellent here, a nice place experience for my family." You can be part of the fun here at Radhadesh.
