Spiritual Birth Place of our founder acharya His Divine

Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Srila Pabhupada.

 

As regarding prayag (Allahabad) this is on record that His Divine Grace

A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada led one third of his life(Approx. 32

Years). He got his guru Diksha (Initiation) at prayag (Allahabad) from his

Guru Maharaj.

 

Geographically Prayag (Allahabad) is located between New

Delhi/Vridavan and Mayapur/Kolkata, well to visit Jaganthpuri from New

Delhi , Prayag (Allahabad) is the gateway.

 

The importance of prayag is that the most sacred rivers the Ganga

(Ganges) yamuna (Kalindi)and the Saraswati merge at “Sangam” located at

Prayag (Allahabad).

 

The Magh and Kumbh Mela (Fair)is held every year , and once in 12 years

over here respectively. It is mentioned in our sacred books that a holy

dip in the Sangam, washes all sins committed by us then and there,

specially during the Magh/Kumbh Mela(Fair).

 

“PRAYAGASTH PREVUSHU PAPAM NASYASSTI TAT CHANAT”

 

In the above it is mentioned that if you meditate else where for

10 Years and get benediction the same can be achieved in one-day stay and

charity at Prayag (Allahabad).

 

The Magh/Kumbh Mela(Fair) is the largest holy gathering of human

being irrespective of cast and religion.

 

We trust that you are aware that on the banks of the Ganga the

Gyani (Learned) live, on the banks of Yamuna, the Bhakta’s (Devotee) live

and on the banks of the Saraswati the Bairagee’s(ascetic) live. This is an

added privilege that Chaitanya Maha Prabhu gave Shiksha and Diksha to Rup

Goswami here only.

 

“PRAYAG VAISHNAVA KSHRATRYAM VKUNTHA DADHIKAM MAM VRIHOSHYA TAT

STRATA MADA DHARO VIRAJATE”

 

In the above the Supreme God Head Lord Narayan state that Prayag

(Allahabad) is my area it is greater than Vaikuntha there is

the “AKSHAYAVAT” tree which is my residence.

 

 

Where to visit at Prayag (Allahabad):-

 

1). Visit to Venu Madhav Temple where Chaitanya Mahaprabhu rested for a

period of 15 days.

2). Visit to Dasamedh Ghat where Chaitnya Mahaprabhu gave Diksha and

Shiksha to Rup Goswami.

3). Visit the residence of Srila Parabhupada & shop of Prabhupada.

4). Visit Balvachaya house where Chaitanya Mahaprabhu took Ptasadam.

5). Arrangement for devotees willing to have holy dip in the Sangam.

6). We will organize a Rath Yatra on this occasion specially for devotees

which will commence from the Diksha Bhoomi of Srila Prabhupada to Iskcon

Temple.

 

 

 

Important Holy Site Scene of Allahabad(prayag) U.P. India

 

Lakshagreh:- It is situated 25 kms away from city. For visiting this Holy

place, cross the Holy Ganga after Handia Tehsil. Where Duryodhan and

Shakuni make conspiracy against Pandavs to set them fire But conspiracy

failed by the Krishna’s mercy.

 

Durvasa:- This holy place 15 kms away from main city. By crossing Ganga

near Jhusi.

Durvasa was son of Sati ansuiya & Rishi Aatri. He was Avatar of Lord Shiva.

 

Worship land of Rishabhdev Ji:- It is situated Andava near Jhusi. Lord

Rishabhdev was emperor of this place. He was learning spiritual knowledge

(Gyaan) under the Akshyavat.

 

Samundrakup:- It is situated in Jhusi and also known by ancient name

Pratisthanpur. It is capital of King Pururva.where Pururva got Gandharav

daughter Urvashi.

 

Place of Vallabhcharya :- After crossing Yamuna it is situated in Naini.

Vallabhcharya invited Chaitanya Mahaprabhu for Bhiksha.

 

Someshwar Mahadev:- Place of Ekadash Rudra in Prayag. In which one Rudra

was Someshwar Mahadev. It is situated in Naini by crossing Holy Yamuna.

Where beautiful and attractive deity established in SRI SRI RADHAVEDI

MADHAV temple.

It is situated bank of Holy Yamuna Baluaghat. Where sunrise and moonlight

are very attractive and endearing. Where the largest festival of

Allahabad, Janmasthmi celebrates. And also see beautiful cows.

 

Initiation Land of Srila Prabhupada :- This place situated in Sobtiyabaag

in the city.

(Sri Rupa Gaudiya Math) Srila Prabhupada has taken initiation in 1932

from his Guru Maharaj Sri Srimad Bhakti Siddhanth Maharaj

 

Bhardwaj Ashram:- It is situated in main city of Lucknow Road.. In the

Treta yug Holy Ganga was flowing from same place. Where Lord Rama , Mata

Sita and Laxman stayed in the Bhardwaj Ashram.

 

House of Srila Prabupada:- This house situated in south Malaka in the main

city. Where Srila Prabupada has spent 21 years with his family members.

Same house Gaur Mohan Day has gone to Krishna (Expired) who was father of

Srila Prabhupada. This is the same place where the incident happened of

TEA and ME with his wife. After this incident Srila Prabhupada has gone to

Vrindavan and renunciation from the world.

 

The Shop of Srila Prabhupada:- This Shop situated in main city of

vivekanand Marg. Srila Pabhupada spent 32 years in Allahabad . Srila

Prabhupada had been running Medicine shop and Dispensary name of Prayag

Pharmaceuticals for 20 years .

 

Vendi Madhav Temple:- Ekadash Madhav located in four side of Prayag. Vendi

Madhav Temple in the center and situated in Daraganj main city. Chaitanya

Mahaprabhu stayed 15 days with Goswami in this temple when going to

Vrindavan.

 

Naagvasuki :- Where Lord Balram came in the time of Mahabharth Battle.

Same place Lord Balram Stayed. It is located in Daraganj the main city.

Lord Sheshnaag and Balram temple

is here. This temple was 5000 years old.

 

Dashashavmegh Ghaat:- It is located in the Daraganj main city. This is

near to Vendi Madhav Temple and bank of Ganga. Where Chaitanya Mahaprabhu

given initiation and instruction to Sri Rupa Goswami.

 

Bade Hanuman Ji:- It is situated in Sangam Area. Where the huge Deity

approx. 20 feet of Lord Hanuman laying down.

 

Akshyavat:- It is situated in Sangam. This akshyavat never destroyed. Lord

Vishnu took rest at the time of disaster.

 

Sangam:- Where the Holy Ganga , yamuna and Saraswati joined. Here Every 12

years Kumbh and every 6 years Ardhkumbh Magh mela (Fair) festival

celebrates with the largest Holy gathering of human being irrespective of

caste and religion.

 

Worship Land of Mergari Tapasthali :- After conversation with Narad Ji

Mergari started worship(Tapasya) in the bank of Holy Ganga.

 

Pandeswar Temple:- Popular temple in the Prayag Ekadash Rudra. This is

situated 5 kms away from Fafamau after crossing north Ganga.

 

Shringverpur:- It is located 15 kms from fafamau . Lord Rama crossed the

Holy Ganga by Kevat. Kevat washed the Lotus feet of Lord Rama while

boarding to boat.

 

Further this is to apprise that there are several Pilgrimage places around

Prayag (Allahabad) within a distance of 100 to 150 Kms such as

Chitrakoot.. (Lord Ram was sentenced for 12 years and stayed here),

Ayodhya (The birth place of Lord Ram) Nemisharanya (Suta Goswami held

Srimad Bhagwatam) classes among 60,000 great saints, Bithur (Valmiki

Ahram , capital of Dhruv Maharaj, Birth place of (Lav Kush), Kashi

(Varanasi) is on the trishul of lord Shiva is place worth viewing along

with the above mentioned holy places.

 

Geographically Prayag (Allahabad) is located between New delhi/Vridavan

and Mayapur/Kolkata, well to visit Jaganthpuri from New Delhi , Prayag

(allahabad) is the gateway.
