I don't think it's a good idea to try to update these things. It's

understood that Srila Prabhupada was writing in the '70s during the Cold

War. You have this kind of thing all over his books -- in the First Canto,

where he talks about China's incursion of India in the early '60s, in the

Iso, where he talks about the communists and capitalists threatening to

blow each other up with nuclear bombs over "stolen bread," and so on. For

books that we wrote, like Higher Taste, it makes sense to update the facts

and figures, but Srila Prabhupada is a historical figure and we should

leave his references to current events of his day as they are.

 

Besides, there IS a great struggle still going on between Russia, America,

and China -- though it may be of a little different character than what was

going on in the '70s. Believe me, they're all still maneuvering for world

dominance.
