Guest guest
I've been considering a move to Lawrence, KS (Bhaktivana Community) - there is a budding community there with 2 cows, 2 oxen, and 40 acres. My current service is book distribution, but lately cows have been sowing up more and more in my life (again). For instance, on the PAMHO Book Distribution Conference the following post showed up comparing sankirtan devotees to cows: "Ratnesvari devi dasi: Jayananda Prabhu would take us out on TSKP—a truckload of women in the van—at a separate time. If we were sometimes hesitant to get out of the van, there was a nice story he’d tell us: “You know, the cow doesn’t discriminate. As long as there’s some grass, any pasture is fine and the cow will be happy. Similarly, as long as there are some conditioned souls, we should not be hesitant, but just approach them."" (From Radha Damodara Vilasa) Also, as I was reseaching the teachings of a famous Indian mayavadi (for sankirtan - we encounter all sorts of philosophies here in Boulder), I came across a Hindu proverb that stated that "if a man loses his cow, he will look for her in the Vedas." Just some cow stuff that I thought I'd share. Ys, Gopal Das
