Guest guest
Dear Yaduraja Prabhu, PAMHO. AGTSP! > We only know that he made himself recognized and accepted as the sole > diksa guru for ISKCON, and that this was a deliberate act Yes, you only know that, just that. You don't know whether in 1966 Srila Prabhupada wanted one diksa guru or several diksa gurus because it is not recorded anywhere that he said it. Therefore it is unproven speculation to say that in 1966 Srila Prabhupada wanted to be the sole diksa guru for ISKCON. > Only crazy people act deliberately to make themselves into something they > never wanted to be. Is this just your opinion? Or can you back it up by some quotes? Let us for the sake of argument assume that Srila Prabhupada wanted several diksa gurus for ISKCON but he could not find any additional diksa guru. Would he then be crazy if he acted deliberately to make himself into the sole diksa guru for ISKCON, something he did not want to be because he wanted several diksa gurus? Also, he would have acted in the same way: He would have asked his godbrothers to help him in ISKCON and then made himself recognized and accepted as the sole diksa guru for ISKCON (because no other diksa was available). So from your observation what Srila Prabhupada did (he asked his godbrothers to help him and then made himself recognized and accepted as the sole diksa guru for ISKCON) you should not speculate that he wanted one diksa guru, or several diksa gurus. > Your challenge rather unfortunately implies the possibility that the > spiritual master may act deliberately to make himself into something he > never intended to be. Yes, it is possible that Srila Prabhupada wanted several diksa gurus, or in other words, he did not want to be the sole diksa guru for ISKCON, and then deliberately made himself recognized and accepted as the sole diksa guru for ISKCON (because no other diksa guru was available). But it is certainly not proven that in 1966 he wanted to be the sole diksa guru for ISKCON. If you agree, we can move on. Otherwise we shall continue to discuss your claim (in 1966 Srila Prabhupada wanted to be the sole diksa guru for ISKCON) until you proved it or admitted that it is unproven. ys Ramakanta dasa
