Dear All,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Hare Krishna !! I have sent an update today.

We have been running in Delhi and have been busy. I am sorry to have not

sent an update earlier.

On April 27, 2006, INDIA TV headlined our crisis on thier evening

"Breaking News" 9 PM news broadcast in India. The program was seen by

millions of Indians and thousands of people sent sms's to the program in

solidarity with ISKCON and requesting the Indian prime minister to intervene

in the issue.

The focus of the broadcast was the collusion of the Kazakh government,

land mafia, and KNB to destroy the homes of devotees in kazakhstan and to

confiscate thier properties.

It was presented in a very passionate and emotional manner. They continued

to run the newws article through the next evening and included a sound bite

from myself and Mahamantra.

On the following evening, April 28,2006, correspondents of India TV,

conducted an interview in New Delhi with the Deputy Foreign Minister

of Kazakhstan, Mr. Kairat Abar Khamnov.

Mr. Khamnov made the following statement regarding the Kazakh government's

attempted destruction of the homes of members of the International Society

for Krishna Consciousness in Kazakhstan:

"The representatives of the major world and traditional religions have

freely operated on the territory of Kazakhstan and we initiated the congress

for religions of world and traditional religions will be held in September

this year in Astana in our new capital.

So on behalf of the Kazak's side I can assure you that the rights of any

conventional or ethnic groups living in harmony at peace in Kazak will be

protected and cannot tell now the details about this incident but will do

all of our best in order to investigate it and reach agreement for this

community as well as with any other communities established in Kazakhstan."

But again, on Friday April 28, 2006, Igor Rotar, Central Asia Correspondent

for Forum 18 News Service <http://www.forum18.org> was informed by

the court executive of the Karasai district R.G. Baimukhanbetova that in the

next week officers from Karasai district will again come to the area where

the members of the Krishna Consciousness Movement live to demolish five of

their homes.

R.G. Baimukhanbetova stated:

"If the members of Krishna Consciousness Movement offer any resistance this

time we will resort to violent measures."

When questioned about the date of planned demolition Baimukhanbetova

replied; "we do not plan to tell the date because we do not need journalists

and cameras present when we do our work."

We do not know when the peopel will strike again. Thus we are requesting you

all to do the follwoing:

1. Lodge a complaint regarding the violation of human rights and religious

freedom that is being conducted against ISKCON in Kazakhstan. Ask the

foreign ministry to take it up with thier conterparts in kazakhstan.

2. If there is a Kazakhstan embassy in thier nation they should organise a

protest. Sivarama Swami is bringing a bulldozer, a few hundred devotees,

placards and all of the media. Devotees throughout the world should do the

same.

3. If there is an Indian consul in thier nation, the Indian Ambassador

should be approached and an official complaint be lodged with the request

that the Prime minister of India with take up this issue with President

Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan.

4. There should be petition signing campaigns and all of the signatures

should be presented to you foreign ministries, kazakh embassy, and Indian

Embassy.

5. If any of you have contacts with any internation news agencies please

inform them and request that their offices in CIS, central Asia, of

specifically kazakhstan will take up the issue.

With affectionate regards,

BB Govinda Swami
