Guest guest
*He at first tried to explain the legal arguments for the action against *Krishnas, but after I pointed out that human rights organizations "on the *ground" are telling the media that it is persecution and land grabbing, he *agreed it is not proper. This was our experience in Hungary. When pressed they must capitulate. In no civilized country do people bulldoze a house because the owner has added some peripheral use to the property, like a sauna, or an office. Sound exciting. The following is one good argument that can be used to mak Khaz officials help see the light of day. It connects their persecutig us with Khaz losing foreign investment: -------------- Khaz government wants to attract foreign investment, for that will bring increased wealth and prosperity to the country. However foreign investors want to see political stability, for without stability there is no hope for steady economic growth, the only condition that will guarantee the maturing of their investment into the profit that motivates them to invest. Democracy has shown itself to be the most lasting and fertile political structure for economic growth: because people want a stable and comfortable life which is dependent on economic development. And the basis of democracy is freedom of thought, freedom of religion and respect for human rights. Thus investors are always keen to see that countries have a good track record on freedom of religion etc. Such freedom is a thermometer on how stable and profitable their investments will be. If governments persecute religions, they can persecute investors. If they seize church land, they can seize companies, businesses and factories. Thus Khaz government should consider: if foreign investors see that religious communities are whimsically buldozed, they will think that their investment is also subject to such whimsy. By persecuting ISKCON, the Khaz government is sending out signals to the business world "don't invest here". And if the Khaz governmen continues to persecute us we will also tell the business world, "Don't invest in Khaz"
