Guest guest
Hare Krsna, Pamho! AgtSP! AgtSG&G! _/\ò_ Srila Prabhupada often said that the astronauts have never actually visited the moon. But the search through the VedaBase reveals these two letters: -QUOTE- 1) Letter to: Charles Gold — Bhuvanesvara, 29 January, 1977 "Although they spend billions of dollars of the public's money for ventures like going to the moon and collecting dust there, they cannot solve the basic miserable conditions of birth, death, old age and disease." 2) 1977 Corespondence, September "Even it is true that they have landed on the moon, so what is their accomplishment? If I come to Earth planet and land in the Sahara desert, then I say, "Oh, this planet is a barren desert, no one lives here?" The moon may be like that or like this, so what does that help to our Krsna consciousness movement. We have nothing to do with moon planet or this planet and that planet in Krsna consciousness. We simply want to serve to Krsna, that's all." -END QUOTE- So I am very curious to ask is it maybe an editing error or mistake in second letter, 'Even IF it is true that they have landed on the moon...' and in first letter, is it something like in the sense of Rahu or in the context allegory that _they have not landed on the moon_ or SP means they have landed? I am actually interesting if it is possible to obtain the copy of that original manuscript or verification issue? I am very very thankful in advance. PS. Please do not send me reply with this 'We have nothing to do with moon planet or this planet and that planet in Krsna consciousness. We simply want to serve to Krsna, that's all' as I know it. Thank you. -- dsd
