Guest guest
Srila Prabhupada took a transcendental tour of ISKCON Vrindavan on Rathayatra day, inspecting the entire Vrindavan project. Devotees had been preparing a week in advance for Prabhupada's visit to their respective departments, offices, kitchens, ashrams, etc. They began cleaning and polishing everything a week before Gundica Marjana in anticipation of Srila Prabhupada's tour. Temple president, Devamrita Prabhu, made daily announcements after mangala arati to encourage devotees to take part in the temple cleanup. He also arranged for an assessment committee to pre-inspect every nook and corner of the temple campus before Srila Prabhupada's visit. As an incentive, the cleanest departments would receive gifts and special awards for their exemplary efforts. Gundica Marjana became a reality for everyone as the entire project was cleansed top to bottom. Enthusiasm transformed into pure ecstasy as the devotees greeted Srila Prabhupada on his tour on Rathayatra day. Prabhupada began his inspection from his Samadhi and proceeded to the temple, guest house, gurukula, MVT, brahmachari ashram, and devotee kitchen. He carefully checked the cleanliness of the temple vehicles, and made a round of the gardens. Devotees joined his entourage along the way in ecstatic kirtan. Wherever possible, prasadam was also distributed to Prabhupada's party. The experience of greeting Srila Prabhupada on his tour uplifted all the devotees' spirits, and gave them encouragement to please him personally in their services. We look forward to Srila Prabhupada's future tours of Vrindavan, and invite you to take part in the temple cleaning whenever you visit the dhama.
